Presently there isn’t a Food Bank at the Church of Saint Andrew, but we donate any non-perishable goods collected on “Lifeboat Sunday” which is the first Sunday of every month, to the Church of the Holy Spirit on Gaston Road. Non-perishable goods are accepted at anytime, but we have designated the first Sunday of every month especially for that purpose. We call it “Lifeboat Sunday” because we have a little boat that was built for this purpose and it is brought into the Church from the Narthex, placed in front of the Altar and blessed as part of our offering to God. All the offerings from this Lifeboat are then taken to the Church of the Holy Spirit. This is another outreach ministry where we serve God by helping to feed the needy of Dartmouth.
