Index of Subjects
Index of Subjects I think you missed the tone of all the messages. Respondents were generally saying "get rid of it", but only after first ensuring nobody gets hurt by RCS's disappearance. Several respondents mentioned instances where people (IPs) might possibly be inconvenienced. This does not translate into support for retaining RCS. I mentioned those who by habit may be relying on only on-line editing. This does not mean I support RCS, but that we need to do something to help convert those who have been regularly using RCS. If there are none, then trash it. If there are only two, or a handful, then I would gladly help those few to convert to uploading files from a master or using FTP. The other 198 likely already have a master set of files (a web) on their own computer, and don't need RCS. Perhaps nobody relies on on-line editing. Otherwise we run the risk of creating a WordPerfect, a bloated piece of software gradually redesigned and expanded to cover every possible need of some obscure secretary or writer somewhere.
