I think you missed the tone of all the messages. Respondents were
generally saying "get rid of it", but only after first ensuring nobody
gets hurt by RCS's disappearance. Several respondents mentioned
instances where people (IPs) might possibly be inconvenienced. This does
not translate into support for retaining RCS. 

I mentioned those who by habit may be relying on only on-line editing.
This does not mean I support RCS, but that we need to do something to
help convert those who have been regularly using RCS. If there are none,
then trash it. If there are only two, or a handful, then I would gladly
help those few to convert to uploading files from a master or using FTP.
The other 198 likely already have a master set of files (a web) on their
own computer, and don't need RCS. Perhaps nobody relies on on-line
editing. 

Otherwise we run the risk of creating a WordPerfect, a bloated piece of
software gradually redesigned and expanded to cover every possible need
of some obscure secretary or writer somewhere.
