Marni,

We have the capability to provide 10 simultaneous PPP connections (which
allow dial-in access via win95 dial-up networking an the use of netscape,
eudora etc.) We allocated these lines to IP's in the first instance. As
soon as the fee structure proposed by Peter Mortimer is agreed upon, I
anticipate Richard calling each IP and asking if they wish to have PPP access.

DJM and Richard are developing a business plan for implementing PPP for
individual members. I would hope we can make inroads on this (ie be
offering it to at least some individuals) by Christmas.

The Ottawa Freenet provides PPP access on the same basis as text-based
access (ie the same fee structure and quota's). I would think this would be
a philosophically sound direction as well as being an innovative business
model.
