Since the power was out at home, we decided to do see if any new birds had been blown into Seaview Park. Unfortunately, not only were there no new birds, those that had been reported during the week had been blown away!

As we were leaving the Park, we noticed a gated road on the right of the access road to the Park very near Barrington St and decided to explore. The road took us under the McKay Bridge and overlooked Seaview Park and the Basin. We discovered that it can also be accessed by a paved path from Novalea Dr. Birds of note were a cooperative Yellow-billed Cuckoo, which finally posed for pictures and 2 Orange-crowned Warblers in a thicket of Japanese Knotweed, lovely plant that it is. We found some signage which indicated that the trails are in Seaview Look-off Park. This was a new trail for us and the habitat certainly looks promising for future visits.

Cheers,
Bob McDonald
