The Bohemian Waxwings have included Head of Jeddore in their tour schedule. There are 7 feasting on the deciduous holly berries in front of my house. This morning they are competing with two robins and a very determined crow who's bulk is very poorly balanced on the fine branches but managing a few berries here and there,...an entertaining sight,..I'm wishng I had a camera....
Other yard birds at present include nuthatch, downy woodpeckers, chickadees, jays, song sparrows, mourning doves, rock doves, goldfinch and lots of crows.
Less frequent visitors included a brown creeper and 2 little guys with a brilliant red stripe on their heads, accompanied by one more just like them but without the stripe. Two years ago I had golden crowned kinglets who were very like this,..could these be ruby crowned kinglets?...they were very flicky,..the two were chasing each other and calling,..the third nonchalantly gleaning twigs in a stand of small birch nearby.
  Cheers, Jan
