October 16th, 1998 I have decided to start a "web diary". Nothing fancy, just some notes that don't really belong on the other pages. Little things, big things, news and notes for friends and family. First item: Big news for those who haven't heard, Anna is pregnant. Our due date is May 10th, 1999. We don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet but we might be able to find out at the next ultrasound on December 1st. November 9th, 1998 Went to see The Siege (my rating) is a really good movie that tells an interesting story and I'd recommend seeing it. It would help if you were an American as the "American Spirit" seems to be one of the focal points of the movie. As a Canadian I had some difficulty with some of the sentiments Denzel Washington was espousing no matter how convincing. Annette Bening was intriguing, interesting and an excellent addition to the cast. I thought Bruce Willis performed quite well. He has been branching out lately into different identities with movies like The Jackal and this one. Don't get me wrong, Bruce is still Bruce but he's definitely expanding his skills as an actor. December 1st, 1998 Anna, Heather, and I took a trip to the IWK Grace for another ultrasound and found out that the first week of May should bring us a visit from Matthew Euloth the latest addition to the family. I hope to be scanning in a copy of the ultrasound soon. Due date has been changed to May 2nd, 1999. December 18th, 1998 Tuesday night found me at the movies. This time up it was Star Trek Insurrection. I rate it at a 7 out of 10. If you liked watching the show then you would like this. It is simply an hour and a half episode. Nothing special but done well enough to get a 7. April 26th, 1999 Yeah, I know well I warned you back on 16Oct1998 that I wouldn't update this page often. Just too busy ;-) Anyway thought I'd drop another note on the page since I had a few minutes. Into day 9 of caffeine withdrawl. Anyone who knows me knows I was a Pepsi-aholic; 2 or 3 600ml bottles of Pepsi a day! Yes, WAS. Heather got it into her head that daddy should give up Pepsi for 20 days (don't know where that came from) but I decided to do it. After the second day I started getting caffeine withdrawl headaches and have been getting them ever since. I take 2 Ibuprofen or 2 Extra Strength Tylenol before I go to bed and that does me right through to the next day. Every couple of days I go without the pills to see if the withdrawl headaches are over. April 27th, 1999 We are anxiously awaiting Matthew's arrival on Sunday. We're not sure if he's coming right on his due date but it is getting close! May 1st, 1999 Three weeks and I can finally go one full day without a headache, wahoo! I'm almost afraid to say it but it looks like I've finally beaten this thing and maybe it is my imagination but I do feel a little different. May 3rd, 1999 - 5:30pm Well, today is Matthew's due date and the little bugger hasn't arrived yet. Anna is ready but we're still waiting... May 6th, 1999 - 11:00am We think Anna's water broke just now. We're heading down to the hospital to see if we were right.... May 6th, 1999 - 11:40am Grandma came and picked up Heather then we left for the hospital driving by 10 Cross St. as there is a house for sale. We arrived at the hospital and made our way to the admissions desk for labour assessment. May 6th, 1999 - 12:35pm We have been through assessment and it looks as though this was it. We got settled in the delivery room and I turned on The Price is Right for Anna - contractions were about every 5 to 6 minutes. May 6th, 1999 - 3:00pm The contractions started to get stronger and closer together (about every 3 minutes) so Anna decided she wanted to have an epidural this time and a doctor came in and gave her one. May 6th, 1999 - 4:15pm The epidural seemed to have missed its mark as Anna had no relief from the contractions. The nurse called in someone to check on her epidural. The other doctor tried to top her up with a little bit extra of something but it too doesn't seem to have any effect. May 6th, 1999 - 4:45pm Contractions were very strong and Anna felt that she had to push. May 6th, 1999 - 5:00pm Matthew was born! June 11, 1999 - 10:36pm We will soon be homeowners. We put an offer in on a house and it has been accepted. We now await some inspections and a lengthy summer of packing as the closing is not until August 31st, 1999. December 20th, 1999 - 11:03pm Wow! It's been a while. As I said I don't update often. Just wanted to write a couple of things. We ordered a Barbie Computer for my daughter. A little extravagant for us but I thought it would be a great surprise for Christmas morning. After waiting for weeks (we ordered back in October) we were finally told on Saturday (the 18th) that it wasn't coming until January 15th at the earliest. Under normal circumstances I might have forgiven them but when I tried to confirm on Friday that it was actually going to be here today I got the bad news. I told the fella on the phone that I had just confirmed on Monday or Tuesday that it was on it's way and he told me that they had just found out on Wednesday that shipments were being delayed due to an earthquake in Asia. This turned out to be a pile of crap because my wife had called on Friday, the day before, and they didn't mention anything about any earthquakes. I don't like being lied to so I told them the could keep their computer and that I'd never but a Patriot product again. |
