Index of Subjects Afternoon John and Andrea. Below is the reply I received from CCN-Tech with several suggestions. It has been edited for clarity. Richard Bonner Chebucto User Help A week ago would be last Monday, which is actually before the new webmail server came on line, but I suppose the definition of "a week" is slightly flexible. I don't see any other indication in the message that the member in question is using webmail, so this could be an entirely unrelated problem. If they are having trouble, I'm guessing due to an obsolete bookmark. Simply opening https://webmail.chebucto.ns.ca should give them a working webmail interface. I'll take a look at the logs. If there are a lot of 404 errors for webmail.chebucto.ns.ca (because people have bookmarked pages that no longer exist in the new version) I'll add a custom 404 page that explains that the URLs have changed and give a link to the main login page. If he can't remember his user name or password, he should contact the Chebucto office. His will be on record, and they can reset his password. Richard asked: > Have you tried accessing CCN mail via PINE? I am using it to answer > you right now and all seems fine. Any POP3 or IMAP capable e-mail reader should also work (notable examples include Thunderbird and Outlook). The instructions here: http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/PPP/securemail.shtml appear to be largely correct, though slightly outdated. The only outright error I can see is that it is no-longer possible access webmail using un-encrypted HTTP. You can load the page, but the old http://webmail.chebucto.ns.ca/ URL automatically redirects to the secure version. >> Do you have a firm resumption date for email? As far as I can tell, mail is up and working normally. In particular, the fact that I'm able to reply to this message implies that our servers are both accepting incoming mail (or they wouldn't have seen the message to CCN-Tech) and sending mail (or I wouldn't have received the message on my Eastlink account). (End CCN Tech Reply)
