We need your help with booking speaking engagements, finding places to pitch our tents, finding food donations, and coordinating media events. Together we can make this dream a reality : ) The Otesha Project, which means reason to dream in Swahili, was created as a means to empower and enable Canadian youth to adopt sustainable lifestyles. It is based on the belief that there are alternatives to our consumer society, and that we all have the power within ourselves to make the world a better place. The key to this? To BE the change we want to see in the world! We are a growing grass-roots organization made up of young people, and are working in partnership with Youth Challenge International and the Sierra Youth Coalition. Our multimedia presentations, interactive workshops and humorous skits, raise awareness about the global impacts of our society, while also articulating hope and solutions. They focus on re-evaluating our daily choices to reflect the kind of future we'd like to see - rethinking what we really need, conserving resources, and voting with our dollars. This year, 18 inspired youth from the organisation will be spending six months cycling across Canada, from Victoria BC to Newfoundland, to bring this education program to over 100 youth venues along the way. This tour will conclude on October 10th 2003 in Newfoundland, having reached over 100,000 youth either online or in person, and biked over 8,500 km! The Otesha Project will be in New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia in the early fall. Nova Scotia dates are September 21 to Oct 2. Please check out the route on the website www.otesha.ca/calendar.htm to see if you can help organize in your community. We'd love to get an email from you (info@otesha.ca ), or a phone call at (613) 591-3607. In Nova Scotia, you can contact our local representative, David Millar, at (902) 446-4155, or coordinator@cpawsns.org Please help us work towards that world we all know is possible : ) We hope you are having a simply splendid day, Jessica and Jocelyn Otesha Project Co-ordinators www.otesha.ca "When we are dreaming alone, it is only a dream.
