Thank you for the invitation Sharon. Although I support your intentions,
I cannot afford to attend the walk. I do have an additional note to add to
your library.
Sometime ago the PEI gov't approved the use of a certain chemical (whose
name I have somewhere but do not remember it as I write this) for use on
potatoe farms. This chemical is banned by warfare treaties which ban the
use of equivalent chemicals, especially as this chemical is a mutagen (it
is used to prevent scab and other potatoe blights).
Long after its use, samples taken independently from several locations
throughout PEI showed residues of this mutagen which infiltrated your
wells and drinking water sources.
This information was muted quite substantially by the PEI gov't and the
press were 'throttled' to effectively carry the truth about this mutagen.
You may wish to start asking questions and/or add this one to the targets
of your efforts.
Bonne chance.
