It should be noted, also, that there is a direct reporting relationship of the office manager to the executive director. POSITION DESCRIPTION Executive Director Chebucto Community Net Society February, 1999 Reporting to the Society's Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the Chief Operating Officer of the Society. Her/his primary responsibility is to act on behalf of the membership of the Society towards achievement of the Society's mission statement and goals. As such, and within those guidelines delineated by the Board, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall development, management, administration, representation and organization of all Society activities, initiatives, programs and affairs including, but not limited to: programs and projects administration and organizational development finance, budgeting and bookkeeping public relations, presentations, media relations and communications organizational, governmental and community relations fundraising, development and revenue generation membership activities and services; annual general meeting employee, personnel and human relations management volunteers strategic planning, program rewiew and assessment educational and information services, publication representing the Society at meetings, consultations and events policy development and issue analysis Board, Executive Committee, Committee and Membership communications, reports and liaison In order to effectively perform and accomplish these duties, the Executive Director will ensure that necessary staff and volunteers, organizational structures, resources, systems and procedures are in place. The Executive Director will act within the policies and guidelines established by the Board and will seek appropriate approvals, guidance and policy directives.
