Index of Subjects Dave and all Do not have any disagreement with the value of analyzing hits. I am primarily interested in usage and which areas are being used and which are not being utilized. Thus where to put emphasis on new material verses the time and resources available. This was what started me looking into additional ways of monitoring usage as I was seeing the child pages equaling much less than the top level parent page totals. I am like you, I was expecting a higher number in the sum of the child pages. I was also wondering if it is possible to track the accesses resulting from specific links from another site (the IP address being known). If it is possible, I would like to obtain a summary of the accesses (hits) occurring in this manner. Your idea of a handbook would be an excellent idea and quite welcome. I am sure it would be of help to all, from the new person to the experienced user who wants to make use of CGI and PERL scripting. Thanks for the considerations and thoughts on this subject.
