We then headed out and motor-sailed past Grand Bruit harbour (of which we have good memories from previous visits).Just east of this attractive and friendly outport, we had the unsettling experience of meeting two personal watercraft that had left Burgeo that morning for a run to the west, and were now returning, "exploring every little cove along the way". A little later, to the west of Grand Brit, we met a couple heading to the east, cruising in a small sailing craft of about 19 feet equippped with outriggers.

We passed along outside La Poile Bay with a moderate SSW breeze and sea. Keeping an eye on the chart and the other on the ledges, columbiers and sunkers off Garia Bay we sailed on into Little Garia Bay, anchoring by 1500 near a small stream on the eastern cove side at the bay’s head.
