As well as being iconic landscapes, barrens contribute an important and his= torically overlooked part of Nova Scotia=92s natural history. These distinc= tive ecosystems are characterized by some of the harshest conditions in the= maritime provinces, but they host a great diversity of plants and lichens,= produce many edible berries, and provide habitat for a handful of species = that aren=92t found elsewhere in the Maritimes. This talk discusses current and ongoing research to describe plant communit= ies on the barrens, mapping the way plant communities are arranged on the b= arrens, and understand the diversity of plants, lichens and bee pollinators= that live there. A presentation to Nova Scotia Wild Flora Society by Biology Professor Dr. J= eremy Lundholm, PhD student Emily Walker, and research associate Caitlin Po= rter of the Ecology of Plants in Communities (EPIC) Lab, Saint Mary=92s Uni= versity. All welcome. 7:30 pm at the Museum of Natural History, Summer Street, Halif= ax in the Auditorium -- Anne Mills Lower Rose Bay Nova Scotia --_000_E8EC1A37C4514B87A56319FDF74A51F7dalca_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-ID: <280E8FFA6C11594097E38DEEBC561B8B@CANPRD01.PROD.OUTLOOK.COM> Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3DWindows-1= 252"> </head> <body style=3D"word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-lin= e-break: after-white-space;"> Can see a time, but no day/date given.<br> <br> <div> <div>On Mar 22, 2018, at 8:48 PM, Eric Mills <<a href=3D"mailto:E.Mills@= Dal.Ca">E.Mills@Dal.Ca</a>> wrote:</div> <br class=3D"Apple-interchange-newline"> <blockquote type=3D"cite"> <div dir=3D"ltr" style=3D"font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-sty= le: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: norm= al; line-height: normal; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px= ; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: auto; word-spacing: 0p= x; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px;"> <table id=3D"msexchangesafetytips;9af0fa67-38d7-4f8a-5575-08d590500cfe;R:en= -CA" border=3D"0" cellspacing=3D"0" cellpadding=3D"0" width=3D"100%" align= =3D"left" style=3D"border: 0px; display: table; width: 526px; table-layout:= fixed; float: none; position: static; z-index: auto;"> <tbody> <tr> <td valign=3D"middle" width=3D"1px" bgcolor=3D"#910A19" cellpadding=3D"7px = 2px 7px 2px" style=3D"padding: 7px 2px; background-color: rgb(145, 10, 25);= "> </td> <td valign=3D"middle" width=3D"100%" bgcolor=3D"#FDF2F4" cellpadding=3D"7px= 5px 7px 15px" style=3D"width: 416px; background-color: rgb(253, 242, 244);= padding: 7px 5px 7px 15px; font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'S= egoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal; = color: rgb(33, 33, 33); text-align: left; word-wrap: break-word;"> This sender failed our fraud detection checks= and may not be who they appear to&= nbsp;be.
