Only thing that nibbled at the strawberries I put out were the =
squirrels. The birds shunned them. I tried grape tomatoes but only the =
juncos showed any interest and then only appeared to eat the seeds. In =
common with many others, I am enjoying the presence of at least 3 fox =
sparrows. After a long absence, I have had one red-breasted nuthatch =
but it seems to stick to the oak trees and pecks around on the snow =
banks, ignoring the suet and black oil sunflower feeders, at least when =
I have been watching. I had a woodcock or snipe fly across in front of =
my car yesterday, but not sure which it was as I=E2=80=99ve seen a =
Wilson=E2=80=99s snipe in that exact spot in previous years.
