Today I paused briefly below the very noisy, very busy Northern Flicker nest hole on my way to the beach at the camp. The young must have heard me and thought I might be an adult Flicker with some food because they started their usual uproar and scrambling in the hole far down from the entrance (~2'). One sooty nestling managed to hike its way up the inside and checked me out. A second or so later father Flicker appeared and jostled the unruly young one back down. Then he watched me until left. Their activities have been a lot of fun to watch being so nearby. Nancy East Dalhousie, Kings Co. Sent from my iPhone
