Interesting Marg, did you ID them? I believe the literature on BL Ticks =
states they can become active anytime there is no snow blanket and the =
temps rise above something like 4 degrees. Unlike my experience with Dog =
Ticks which only seem to be a problem for roughly 3 months of the year.

Kevin

.........

Good morning, Kevin, I 'm not sure what you mean. I know the differences =
between the ticks. Deer ticks have been here a lot longer than some =
will say. I know the local vet has more experience than I have had and =
they are removing them 'all winter' from animals, this year . I just =
pick them off and dispatch them as quickly and thoroughly as I can.

I used to take Ticks to Milton DNR as requested in a CBC radio =
interview to have them checked so we could have it noted they were here =
but was told not to do that any more as they weren't interested.=20
I have developed a theory of sorts. I think ticks can 'migrate' for lack =
of a better word, in large groups! On several occasions, in quite =
different locals, I stepped onto pavement or bare road from a car and =
have been covered with them in a minute or two......shudder. I'm talking =
well over a hundred or more ticks.
Great morning!
