I got = fooled a couple of years ago when I saw this brown roly-poly fellow = alongside the French Basin Trail at the Annapolis Royal Marsh, and = assumed it was a ground hog/woodchuck. However, after becoming more = acquainted with the muskrats that inhabit that marsh, I realized that's = what I had seen (I had taken several pics of him/her two years ago, so = was able to make that determination). Yesterday, I saw two young = fellows sitting side by side nibbling away on cattail shoots. I posted = a shot of them to my blog. Lois=20 http://annapolismarshwalker.blogspot.com ----- Original Message -----=20 From: James Hirtle=20 To: Naturens Naturens=20 Sent: Sunday, June 27, 2010 11:34 PM Subject: [NatureNS] Red foxes and young deer Hi all again: =20 I forgot to mention that there was a young deer today at the French = Basin trail with all white spots and also a ground hog. =20 =20 At Kingsburg Beach there was an adult fox with a snowshoe hare in it's = mouth. I suspect that it has had a second litter there. I had a pair = near there with three kits over a month ago and the kits should be grown = enough now to fend for themselves. I had two more red foxes on a lawn = at Lower Rose Bay where a pair had three other kits that I know of. So = three red foxes for the evening in two locations. =20 James R.
