As expected, there were 12 Harlequin Ducks quite close in. Tide was high and viewing conditions were good, but apart from a few Herring and GBB Gulls, I saw NO other birds on the water. A few years ago late Feb. would have been excellent for Scoter, Eider, Loons, Grebes etc. Has anyone elso noticed this, or is it just a fortuitously birdless morning? And if anyone has Port George in their Atlas Square, there was a pair of adult Bald Eagles circling around above a woodlot just east of the village, one of which was carrying a stick - presumably nest-building.
