An hour before dawn, there was a barking Long-eared Owl near the Eigg
Mountain Wilderness Area in Antigonish County. Its calling provoked hooting
from a Great Horned Owl. A Barred Owl was calling in the distance. One
half-hour before sunrise, an American Robin was singing. Three Hermit
Thrushes were on the ground calling (chuck note and scree notes) and at
least six Hermit Thrushes flew over head giving their nocturnal flight call.
