High tide was at noon. Very strong wind out of the east. At noon at Hortonville, there were no double-crested cormorants on the power lines across the mouth of the Gaspereau River. An hour later, no change. So perhaps most of them have departed for the south now? Windsor sewage ponds at 12:30 p.m.: 50 black-bellied plovers, 60 small sandpipers (peeps?) that were too distant for identification with my ancient scope (probably mostly semipalmated sandpipers??), 80 black ducks, a few mallards, at least 2 Am. wigeons, good numbers of ring-billed gulls, good numbers of herring gulls, 15 great black- backed gulls, and, nearby, 20+ rock pigeons.
