On Saturday Dad and I causally birded our way down the South Shore so we were quite surprised when we added up the list on Monday and discovered that on Saturday we had seen 102 species and added another 14 species on Sunday and Monday while doing a little birding around Metro. The best birding location of the weekend for us was St. Catherine’s River Road where we had fabulous looks at a Bell’s Vireo, a Philadelphia Vireo and a very tame Lark Sparrow. A good variety of warblers were also present. Cape Sable Island had surprising few warblers but an excellent selection of shorebirds with the best species being a Wilson’s Phalarope. -All the Best in Birding, Clarence
