A walk along the RR bed this afternoon yielded the following:
Butterflies
- 1 White Admiral
- a few Common Ringlets
- many Tiger Swallowtails
- Cuckoo flower in bloom everywhere but no Mustard Whites
- a few Cabbage Butterflies
- quite a few Hobomok Skippers
Dragonflies
- 2 adult males; 3 fem. or imm. male, Common Whitetails
- 2 ad. Chalk-fronted Corporals
- 1 Twelve-spotted Skimmer (in backyard)

Others
- American Toad trilling
- a few Green Frogs "glunging" (would expect more)
- lots of birds still singing including a Black-throated Blue Warbler
which I've never had before along this stretch.

This is a stretch of RR bed which a group are attempting to turn into a
non-motorized trail. Today a company was laying a topcoat of
crushed rock and wet clay. It will be a great surface for walkers,
runners and cyclists. Now they just have to keep the 4-wheelers &
dirt bikes off it, no easy task!!
