    I made my first visit to sandhills park yesterday. I haven't visited =
there for some time because of my health.
    I was interested in piping plovers. They have a zone roped off for =
them as usual, but I did not see any of the birds. What we did have in =
the roped off area was about twenty terns - their colour was =
predominately white, but I would hesitate to give them a name. I think =
they must have been thinking of nesting, because they protested loudly  =
at my presence. I have a new hearing aid, and the noise was terrific.
      There were also about fourteen birds on the beach - the size of =
willets, but too far away to identify. I also saw three great blue =
heron.
      One thing I always notice is the way the breach changes from one =
year to the next.
