Everyone is welcome to take in the following HFN events:
=20

1.. Join Halifax Field Naturalists at the N.S. Museum of Natural =
History, 1747 Summer Street at 7:30PM on Thursday June 4th, for a =
picture presentation by Burkhard Plache of their travels through =
Labrador. This diverse region is close to the Maritimes, yet =
undeservedly overlooked by many travelers.

2.. Join Halifax Field Naturalists Saturday June 6th on a 5-6 hour =
paddling trip of the upper Shubenacadie RIver. We'll embark from =
Shubenacadie Grand Lake at 9:00 a.m. at the boat launch in Oakfield =
Provincial Park, off Hwy 2 between Fall River and Enfield. Before =
embarking, half the vehicles will be taken to the destination point for =
participant pickup when the trip is over. We will paddle downriver to =
Enfield, passing natural and residential areas. Please arrange for your =
own canoe/kayak. You must have a personal floatation device, spare =
paddle, rope, bailer and whistle. Bring lunch and a beverage, a change =
of clothing, water shoes, inset repellent, and sunscreen, all in a =
secure, waterproof bag. Prior paddling experience is a prerequisite for =
this trip (if in doubt, inquire). There are a few swift running =
sections. Some shallow spots require wading knee-deep. Pre-registration =
is required at the latest by Thursday evening before the trip. Contact =
Burkhard or Ingrid Plache 475-1129, or hfn.programme@gmail.com.=20
