Life At the Poles - Thursday, November 5th - 7:30 PM in the auditorium of the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History. Contact 475-1129 Join Halifax Field Naturalists as Sarah Chisholm shares photos and stories from her experiences at both the top and bottom of the globe with her presentation, "Life at the Ends of the Earth". Sarah was privileged to spend two austral summers studying and living amongst penguins and seals on the Antarctic Peninsula. This experience, and her work as a seabird biologist and Park Warden in the Canadian Arctic, have given her a strong appreciation for the beauty and challenges of life in polar regions. Hike Long Lake Provincial Park, Sunday, Nov. 8 -10:00 a.m. at the Halifax Exhibition Park parking lot (east end, near the entrance) on Highway 333, 500 metres from the intersection with the Saint Margaret's Bay Road, Contact: Peter Webster, 453-9244. Join Halifax Field Naturalists as we will explore a little of Long Lake Provincial Park, the largest provincial park in the Halifax area. This still largely undeveloped park offers a wide range of natural environments and animal habitat - from rocky granite uplands, hardwood and softwood forests, to lakes and marshes. We will explore the park with an eye to the clash between human activities and the natural environment, throughout the area's history to the present, and into the park's future. Bring a lunch, water, and sturdy, waterproof footwear. --Boundary_(ID_kQE100WZONqYczhbeN/Bpw) Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML xmlns=3D"http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40" xmlns:o =3D=20 "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w =3D=20 "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:st1 =3D=20 "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.6000.16788" = name=3DGENERATOR><o:SmartTagType=20 name=3D"City"=20 namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagT= ype><o:SmartTagType=20 name=3D"Street"=20 namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagT= ype><o:SmartTagType=20 name=3D"address"=20 namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagT= ype><o:SmartTagType=20 name=3D"PlaceType"=20 namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagT= ype><o:SmartTagType=20 name=3D"PlaceName"=20 namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagT= ype><o:SmartTagType=20 name=3D"place"=20 namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagT= ype><!--[if !mso]> <STYLE>st1\:* { BEHAVIOR: url(#default#ieooui) } </STYLE> <![endif]--> <STYLE> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Verdana; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {color:purple; text-decoration:underline;} p {margin-top:0in; margin-right:0in; margin-bottom:13.5pt; margin-left:0in; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} span.EmailStyle17 {mso-style-type:personal-compose; font-family:Arial; color:windowtext;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY lang=3DEN-US vLink=3Dpurple link=3Dblue bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=3D2>Here are a few upcoming programme = events arranged by the=20 Halifax Field Nats.
