In addition to feeder visits over the past week from humming birds, downey and hairy woodpeckers, gold and purple finches, siskins, one lone female evening grosbeak and one male+two female rose breasted grosbeaks amongst the other usual birds, I am now having regular visits from one lone crow who is eating many times daily from my feeders. I have never seen this before in 25+ years of bird feeding. I have been aware throughout this past winter of seeing one apparently solitary crow flying around the area and perching nearby - but eating regularly from the feeders, which seems especially strange at this time of year - is entirely new. Is this unusual? Comments would be appreciated. Eleanor Lindsay Seabright, St MargaretsBay
