The Space Station and the ATV will be making passes over the next few evenings. Here are some links to get predictions at the Heavens Above site. ISS is the space station schedule. It's a neat site for getting sky information re satellite schedules and plenet and star information. The ISS makes a nice pass over Avonport between 8:46 and 8:50 p.m. this evening (up 50 degrees above the NNW), coming out of the west The ATV is earlier: 8:34 to 8:36 p.m. (up 57 degrees above NNW) coming out of the west These showld be seen over most of the Maritimes at about the same times; the altitude track will vary somewhat. The ATV http://www.spacetoday.org/SpcStns/ATV/ATV.html Set configuration to get predictions set for your own location http://www.heavens-above.com/ My preselected Maritime sites near you http://web.mac.com/sherm39/iWeb/Site/ISS_Page.html Heavens Above Predictions from Grand Manan http://www.heavens-above.com/?lat=44.70575&lng=-66.81335&loc=Grand +Manan+NB&alt=54&tz=AST It should be a great night for sky watching if you have a dark location. Jupiter is brightly shining above the south. Venus is now visible naked eye low in the west between 7:45 and 8:15 (very bright, just above the salmon pink twilight zone).
