I was out after dark tonight listening for night-herons (heard and then
saw four) and about 8:25 pm I noticed a very bright satellite passing by
overhead, accompanied by a smaller, less bright satellite. I'm assuming
the bright one was the International Space Station, and the tag-along
might have been one of the space shuttles. I checked Spaceweather.com
and they say there are no satellite flybys scheduled for the next 10
days. Perhaps someone in the know can confirm if this is indeed what I
saw (the duo was moving from roughly the WSW to the ENE.
