Thanks for the heads-up on the BB Sandpiper! We'll be taking a visitor to Hartlen's on Friday AM. Hope that some of the good birds are still around! Had a message from Peter Payzant indicating that the location where the tree cutting is taking place is precisely the location where the Harvester butterfly which you showed them was observed. Now that is a real shame. Sure would like to get some more info on the project but a phone call to the city was next to useless and a message sent to the local councillor has elicited no reply as yet. On some HRM maps the park area is outlined but on others it's not shown at all. Very mysterious. Cheers, Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: Michael King To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 1:47 PM Subject: RE: [NatureNS] Burnside trails and Peregrine Falcon Hi Bob, the trail closure is due to development going on at Garland Ave.not sure how long the trail will be closed, but I am sure with all the trees being cut down is destroying habitat for many good species of birds.I guess I will have to wait and see what the future will bring??
