All,
=A0
The offspring of Oscar & Ethel, the Osprey pair featured on OSPREY CAM, tha=
t The NS Museum Of Natural History and NS Power have been sponsoring, has f=
ledged. This happened this past week, info @ http://museum.gov.ns.ca/mnh/os=
prey/index.asp .
'Bella', the osprey chick, though spending less and less time there during =
the day,=A0has stayed in the nest every night since she has taken flight=A0=
It appears she is feeding in the nest=A0but do not know that the parents m=
ay still be providing her with food.
How long do parent Osprey continue to feed their offspring (if this is occu=
ring) after the offspring=A0fledge and how long does it usually take for of=
fspring to learn how to fish on their own.
I note on the website that the survival rate is 50 percent. Now that the ch=
ick has fledged, are her odds much improved?

Thankyou,
=A0
