I don't peer under stones and bits of wood as muich as I did twenty or
thirty years ago, but have some qualitative observations.

Red-backed salamanders are not nearly as abundant in the harwood forest
areas of this corner of the province as they were in the good old days!

Spotted salamanders appear to be comparable in abundance, as do newts.

Spring peepers?  Still common, but the rackets of a generation ago could be
deafening! They don't seem so loud now.
