Peter: The Bedford birds do wander around the harbour, and once to Sullivas Pond and once to E. Passage (assumed to be Bedfor birds). They did produce young in the past, but I don't have details at hand. They are long widely feral in n.e. US and into s. ON, and it is believed that a corpse found Feb. 1985 on Sable I. (now in Acadia Univ. Museum), a juvenile that attempted (fatally) to winter on Brier and Long I in Jan. 2001, and two on juveniles on coastal ponds in Yar. Co. from Oct. 2005 to Jan. 200O were all "wild" wanderers from, probably, New England stock. Best, Ian McLaren
