Home page info' on Eagle Watch 2008 from http://www.eaglens.ca : Welcome to the 17th Annual SHEFFIELD MILLS EAGLE WATCH In The Beautiful Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia January 26 - 27, 2008 February 2 - 3, 2008 New This Year : 1st Annual Invitational Art Show Local artists will display their works in many art forms including carvings, photography, stained glass, metal works and original paintings. A ballot provided with your $1 admission to the upstairs display area will give you a chance to win our $100 door prize. * Eagles are in the area from late November until early March. * January and early February are the best months for viewing. * Displays will also be open February 9 - 10. * Bookings for school visits are encouraged weekdays from January 28 - February 8. * The eagles are most plentiful during mid to late morning. * Please drive safely, avoiding sudden un-signalled turns and stops. * Many other kinds of raptors are also present in area during the eagle season. * Highway shoulders are not as wide as they may appear. When ditches are filled with snow, leave at least half the width of your vehicle on the pavement. * Pick up a map indicating viewing sites, from Community Hall or from designated sites for eagles maps and info' sheets. * Area Map ------------------ LOCATION: Sheffield Mills Community Hall 98 Black Hole Road (near Canning , Kings Co. N.S.) Directions: Take exit 12 off Hwy. 101 and follow the blue eagle signs or watch for turnoff signs from highway 1 at Greenwich, New Minas, or Kentville.
