During a stop in Brooklyn, near Liverpool on Tuesday, a friend presented
me with a litre of wild cranberries he had picked somewhere inland. He
said he had never seen them so ripe as this year. Not a ruby red like
the commercial ones, but more like a deep, raspberry red. He said they
were not hard to find.
