I am communicating with three US ornithologists on the very tricky issue of
discriminating first-fall Indigo and Lazuli Buntings, and would greatly
appreciate seeing as many photos as possible of the birds in this year's large
influx. I will of course access photos posted on websites or photosites.

For those wanting to find a Lazuli, note that wing bars and lack of ventral
striping may be unhelpful. On young Lazuli, look for decided gray tones around
the face, thoat, nape, and upper back.
