All: I am communicating with three US ornithologists on the very tricky issue of discriminating first-fall Indigo and Lazuli Buntings, and would greatly appreciate seeing as many photos as possible of the birds in this year's large influx. I will of course access photos posted on websites or photosites. For those wanting to find a Lazuli, note that wing bars and lack of ventral striping may be unhelpful. On young Lazuli, look for decided gray tones around the face, thoat, nape, and upper back. Cheers, Ian McLaren
