It seems that many are not aware of two other places of accommodation on Brier Island... The Dock and Doze Inn ( 3 untis, one is housekeeping, located across the street from the ferry dock) and The Bay of Fundy Inn, which is owned by Penny and Roy Graham of Mariner Cruises. This inn is located in a historical home on Brier Island and has two queen rooms, one double room and (from September through May) one room containing two twin beds. Cots are available for $ 15.00. Room rate includes a continental breakfast consisting of cereals, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, muffins and is $ 75.00 plus tax. There is a discounted rate for persons also booking a whalewatching tour with Mariner Cruises. The Bay of Fundy Inn contains a dining room, living room with TV, sitting room and a three piece washroom downstairs and a four piece bath upstairs. Next door to the inn is the Bay of Fundy Guesthouse which is a three bedroom home available for rent nightly at the rate of $ 125.00 plus tax.
Towels and linens are provided and the house has kitchen facilities, dining room, living room with satellite TV, outside deck, full bath with shower, and is an option for those who prefer privacy or to be self sufficient and be able to prepare their own meals, etc.

the Mariner cruise for our group this year, so it is up to each of us to

good number of birders down for that Saturday p.m. trip, it increases our

Early reservations are also recommended for accommodations, whether you
are using the lodge or the hostel. I tried the hostel for last night and
there was no room available; if they get enough reservations in advance,

For lunch, we need to make our own arrangements, as the Lighthouse Café is
closing this weekend and the Lodge does not serve lunch. Sandwiches are
available at the store and perhaps from the Lodge? If enough are
interested, Mrs. De Vries has offered to let us eat lunch in the Lighthouse
Café and provide some soup or chowder with sandwiches, but I would need an
idea of how many were interested a few days in advance to arrange that.
Lavena's café in Freeport will be open for lunch, and be a good bet for
Sunday if our boat gets out Saturday, but the time required for the ferry
and lunch make it impractical for Saturday, unless the weather is bad.
No pre-registration is required, but it would be helpful for us to have
an idea of how many are coming and when, so if you could let me know of your
plans (off-list ) it would be appreciated. It is
understood that some of your plans may change at the last minute, but some
idea of what to expect is better than none.
By the way, anyone traveling to Brier more than once a year might want to
get a book of tickets (10 for $12.50) on the ferry instead of paying $5 each
time.
