RIGHT ON!! Suzanne.
This has been a pet peeve of mine for years.=20
What film makers don't realize is that for persons in tune with their =
surroundings birdsong is a vital ingredient which contributes greatly to =
the emotional satisfaction of the movie experience.=20
I was born and raised in the U.K. thus movies made in that region are =
usually very appealing to me. A large part of that appeal is the =
nostalgia evoked by the old familiar birdsongs . A truly memorable =
satisfying experience was " The French Lieutenants Woman" directed by =
Karel Reisz which included many segments of the correct songs for the =
area and habitat. Unfortunately this was a 'Rara avis' in moviedom. =
Let's hope Graham Chisholm's article will make a difference.
Cheers!
Andy
