All:

Derek Lovitch reports from Maine that the adult Red-tailed Tropicbird is still
being seen around Matinicus Rock, and also that a Bridled Tern (same as
previous year's?) has turned up around Outer Green I. at the mouth of Casco
Bay. Stray terns do show up in summer at local tern colonies - a good time to
check viewable.

He also notes that there has been a a larger Greater Shearwater die-oof along
the southeastern US coast. If this is one of those periodic aepisodes of red
tide, it may be less serious than if it represents a broader sea-change
involving available resources. At any rate, it's something to look for in
these parts.

Cheers, Ian McLaren
