Hello all--

I am a graduate student at Dalhousie working for Parks Canada to develop a coastal monitoring program for the Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct. One of the measures we are piloting this summer is a census of salt marsh birds.

We are heading out early tomorrow morning, using the CWS protocols, (see http://www.atl.ec.gc.ca/wildlife/salt_marsh/field_e.html).

The census location is the Little Port Joli lagoon side of the Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct. Access to the site involves a lovely 1 hour walk through forest, past wetlands and bogs from an access road in Southwest Port Mouton.

I am looking to add another birder or two to the ranks to help increase the success of the census and minimize missing species. I realize this is short notice, but if anyone is up for a lovely early morning tomorrow (Wednesday, July 18), please respond to my address aimeliabodelia@yahoo.ca

We will be getting started at 5:30 am from the trailhead as surveys are to be conducted before 11 am.

Happy Birding,
Aimee Pelletier
