Dear All, Apr 6, 2007 In a normal winter here, with snow cover for most of the period from late Dec to end of March, any soil that is frozen early on tends to thaw fairly rapidly under the snow. I brought in some wood yesterday and was surprised to see that the newly exposed runners were still frozen solid to the ground. Not a good winter to be a soil animal that depends upon heat from below to keep warm. Yt, Dave Webster, Kentville
