Index of Subjects Lots of new wildlife sightings here in the Stewiacke Valley. Yesterday, either a very young beaver or a muskrat jumped into the water before I could get a good look at him down by the beaver pond (where the beavers have built a new lodge within viewing distance of the road); overhead a mature bald eagle was making lazy circles. Today I'm pretty sure I saw a large mink scamper across a narrow spot in the road where the road crosses a brook; I hope he doesn't pay a visit to my pond--the muskrat family that lives there are beginning to feel like pets. Wild Flora in Birch Hill, which is next door to Middle Stewiacke
