   Spring is here as well,...,..Two lovely downy woodpeckers the other day,..a lone robin across the road... black capped and boreal chickadees here and zooming flocks of juncos the usual jays and mourning doves and others in response to

  A new bird - a red breasted nuthatch has been around for a couple of days. 
   
  ..there are two nuthatch here, that have been for the last three weeks,..sporadically at first but all day now 
  
  Sparrows - mostly white throated, but one song sparrow.
   
  ...though song sparrows routinely overwinter here I have not seen even one since mid december..
  
 About a dozen goldfinch.
   
  ...two days ago there were 30 and 1 lone siskin travelling with them..
