Hi Eleanor, all others:
Yes, the government announcement was slightly confusing, even redundant,
as the planned purchase of the two Mahone Bay islands was already announced
by the provincial government.
The St. Margaret's Bay Stewardship Association
http://www.heartofthebay.ca/ needs a lot more help with its fundraising
campaign for "Micou's Island." But the Mahone Islands Conservation
Association's pledge campaign has been oversubscribed and only 21 % of the
pledged amount is necessary to complete the planned purchase of Coveys and
Bachmans islands. Any extra collected funds will go towards future land
purchases.
This is a golden opportunity for NatureNS folks to step up to the plate
and support the SMBSA campaign....
