Reminds me:

Yesterday morning at about 0930 I, too, saw a Red-tailed Hawk (red tail 
conspicuous, other coloring normal) as it swooped in and landed on the 
median of Hwy. 102, about 1 km south of the airport (closer to Miller's 
Lake.) Pouncing on a small mammal?
