*  Many of the spiders are quite small, but I've occasionally found  
the odd larger spider as well.   Most of the Opilione (Harvestman)  
seem to be of good size when I've found them on the snow.    There's  
actually quite a bit of spider activity on milder days from January  
on, so it's well worth watching for them.  However, it requires sharp  
eyes as they're easily mistaken for bits of dark debris on the snow!
