    Today, skiers and 'boarders at Ski Martock we treated to the unusual 
sight of a Rough-legged Hawk tearing and clawing at the carcass of a 
"rabbit" (?), some 10 m from the crowd of people at the lower end of the 
chairlift. The hawk was present mid-morning for 45- 60 minutes, and 
again in mid-afternoon for about the same time period. After its 
afternoon feeding session it perched for a while on a nearby tree.
    My skiing buddy tells me that he saw the bird at the same location 
last Sunday, suggesting that it returns to the carcass on a daily basis...
