In early December another bird that I could not identify briefly appeared, the ID of which I put aside at the time due to the busyness of the season. It was sparrow-like in appearance - a rather chunky, brown 'sparrow' and a little larger than a song or whitethroat with a slim, short dark beak and dark legs. Its breast was creamy and heavily streaked allover and it had a striking little orange patch at the throat. It had a cream above-eye stripe and two faint creamy wing bars. I have a few good pictures of it if anyone is interested - but please give me your personal E-mail address to send them to. Eleanor Lindsay, Seabright, St Margarets Bay
