We picked some pussy willows along Gospel Woods Road here on the North Mountain yesterday. This suggests an alternate definition for "blue moon": A calendar year in which pussy willows emerge twice. I suppose this means that we should enjoy them now -- I'm guessing that they won't be producing more buds in the spring. Doug Linzey Arlington
