I noticed a number of them (Harmonia axyridis) last week in my back
yard on one of the warm sunny days. Chances are that any lady beetles
you may notice at this time of year are this species since, as Jim
mentions, they frequently seek out crack & crivices under shingles,
etc. as place to hibernate.

All the best,

Chris
