We visited Rainbow Haven this afternoon, and scared up an Am. Bittern in the marsh between the 2 parking lots (inner & outer). It flew farther into the marsh, where we could just see its head and neck sticking up out of the long grasses. 4 Red-br. Mergansers, and 8 Gr. winged Teal were also in this marsh with a number of Bl. Ducks. The Gt. Egret is still there - we saw it in the salt marsh along the road to the Skeet Club. There was also a male N. Flicker eating Bayberries in the dunes by the beach, about 70 Bl.-bellied Plover, and some smaller shorebirds (un-IDed), 4 Bonapartes Gulls and about 35 Horned Larks on the shore along the inlet from the beach Lois Codling
